I am starting to get a better understanding of how to manage the class load of college. The main difference for me is that I went from having the same classes everyday to only having each class two or three times a week. This is a much bigger difference than I expected for two reasons. One is that you can not have an off day. In high school, you can have a day here or there were you don't really take in everything and just recover the next day, but if you try to do that in college you may miss a whole section of the chapter and not understand the next class, for each class is lying a foundation for the next class. Also, the intensity of each class is greatly escalated over high school. This is because you have a lot more to learn in each class, and you go from taking a class for a whole year to a semester, so you have even less time to learn all the information you need to know. This is a challenge and a blessing. The challenge is the obvious part, but I say that it is a blessing because it forces you to not take a day off and to try and to try and get the most out of each class. This is something that I am truly enjoying about college.
