Speaking of exams...
Just got my first exam grade in Accounting, 98! Woot! But I found me beating myself up over those 2 stupid points I missed! Messed up huh? But also I feel like since I did so well on my first test grade, that I might be overconfident next time, which is what my teacher said happens... So instead of being happy with an A, I find myself worrying whether I can ever due that again... Weird
OHH! One thing I SO HATE is when a professor says their test is SOOO EASY, and it is COMPLETELY the OPPOSITE and the WHOLE class thinks so! HELLO PROFESSORS! YOU WROTE THE TEST OFCOURE YOU THINK IT'S EASY! So you end up not studying as hard as you should! THANKS! Oh and and if the class doesn't do well on an essay question, tell them what they did wrong, don't just tell them to write it over! What am I supposed to change?
Wow...I sould angry...I'm so not..lol...anyways...
Otherwise school's great right now!
Oh and everyone SOO check out Ultimate Frisbee on Mondays and Thurdays from 7 to 9 i think! It's a blast even if you think you suck!
More Later...
Well, today I had my first college-level exams, which meant that all of my free time last night was spent in study groups and my own review. I really enjoyed being in a study group. It was very nice because in a group you can share ideas with each other and ask questions. I think that studying with others helped me a lot because I could then take what we talked about and review on my own.
Taking my first exams was not too bad for me. Luckily in high school I had classes that had exams with formats like the exams I took today. It was good prep for me, but I still spent a lot of time in this past week reviewing. Having the unexpected day off on Friday really freed up some time this weekend for me to spend in intense studying. I think all the time I put into my studies were worthwhile, though. At least I hope so.
Now I just have to wait and see what grades I get. It's now that the real waiting and anxiety begins...
Yes, I finally had the Ben & Jerry's ice cream that I wanted. It ended up being Wednesday night, but it got eaten anyway. However, the freezer compartment in my fridge does not work very well because when I opened up the carton, most of it was melted. It was pretty disappointing. However, since I got to go home this weekend I still got my ice cream (mom surprised me with a carton in the freezer at home). It was very nice!
My unexpected weekend at home mostly consisted of studying and laundry (which for me is typical, even when I am at school). I have a couple of exams coming up this week, so I used my free time this weekend to study. I think I spent at least an hour and a half last night working algebra problems. I got to bake brownies too, which was like a luxury for me because I don't get to bake at all here at school. I was actually very proud of myself because I accomplished a lot this weekend!
Well, I guess that's all for now. I'm just glad to be in my room and settled in after my weekend away. It's always good to be home and to see my family, but I'm ready to get back to my life at TLU. Here comes the new week!
I have absolutely begun to love the fact that food can be taken to-go from Hein. I've made it a part of my routine on Tuesdays and Thursdays to get some take-out from Hein and take it back to my room during my lunch break so that I can check my email and take a moment to rest (ooh, a nap would be SO nice right now) before my next class. I play music from my laptop, eat, and just take a moment to just sit there and be. I try not to worry about homework or class or anything during this time. I just take some time for myself.
Taking that time for myself has been very vital to my survival in the college enviornment. Even if it's just fifteen minutes at the end of the day to read my fiction novel that isn't required reading (I make time for that reading), I try to find some time to do something other than homework, studying, and going to class. It's pretty important, and I like it.
Well, I have a class in a little bit, and I probably should finish my lunch before I go. There's an unopened carton of Ben & Jerry's ice cream in the freezer compartment of my fridge that's calling my name. ![]()
More to come soon!
Life at TLU has been crazy busy lately, which is why it was hard to remember to even write this blog.
Between classes, friends, homework, and school events (coffee house, WOTS, etc.) it's really hard to find the time to just relax anymore... Time management it really getting me... I guess it'll come with time...I hope...
Like with Calculus, which is really kicking my butt by the way, I pushed my homework to the last night, and my brain was numb by the time i finished it all, and I am sure it was all wrong! BLAH! Anyone a math genius? I could use your help about now!
Otherwise life's good, it's my first weekend i've spent here instead of going home for something or other... It's been fun, i even contributed to the community by helping build a house for Habitat for Humanity! It's a good feeling being covered in Spackle! (lol, if you know what that is)
Well peace out for now, more later...
